Welcome to Blackwater Audio
Formerly a physical recording studio, Blackwater Audio is the point of contact for producer/mixing engineer Tyler Duffus, as well as an online equipment retailer, drum sample company, and online audio resource. Our goal is to help you create and capture your music in a way that you've never heard before. We want to tear the veil between what you've only imagined and what is truly possible for your art. Since selling the physical location in August 2023, Tyler has been producing out of multiple professional studios in the Denver area, and has a mix/master and overdub suite in his home in Castle Rock, CO. The purpose of this transition, was to better serve our artists by matching the best rooms in Denver for each client's individual project needs and budget. Blackwater Audio originally began as Denver Grown Music and Recording in 2008, after owner/engineer Tyler Duffus graduated with a MEIS degree from the University of Colorado Denver. It has seen several locations, and incarnations, but in October of 2018, it was given a new image as Blackwater Audio, professional recording studio, equipment dealer, and gear review and education service.
